Starting this Tuesday, March 26, 2019, until April 30, 2019, residents of Saint-Lazare will receive their brown bin, countertop bin, practical collection guide as well as a calendar outlining the dates for food waste collection, slated to begin the 2nd week of May. The collection will take place on Mondays for residents in the “eastern” sector of town and on Thursdays in the “western” sector.

1st collection – Mondays or Thursdays

Contrary to other collections, the food waste collection will take place over two days. Mondays will be for residents in the “eastern” sector of town while Thursdays will be for those in the “western” sector, as shown on the map above.

Residents in the “eastern” sector will therefore be able to place their bin at the curb on Monday, May 6, while those in the “western” sector will be able to do so on Thursday, May 9. A map of collection sectors is also available online at: ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca/en/bacbrun.

Practical collection guide

The information guide included in your bin outlines the materials that are accepted and refused as part of the food waste collection, the main objective of which is to keep waste that could be re-used out of the landfill. In an effort to inform residents and clarify certain beliefs that have been acquired over the years, the Town has chosen to review each of the other collections that take place within its territory—namely, the green waste collection and recovery, the recycling collection and the household waste collection.
