For a 43rd year, enamel artist Bernard Séguin Poirier opens the doors of his creative haven to the public. Until December 31, visitors will be able to admire the incomparable heritage home of the renowned artist, located at 1037 Chemin du Fleuve in Les Cèdres. Generous and welcoming, Mr. Séguin Poirier also opens the doors to his gallery, his breathtaking enamelled Chapel and his studio.
This popular event since 1979 is an incursion into the world of the artist where colors, love, light and hope are present throughout. This year, the theme of the exhibition is “LES CINQ SENS et +”. “This year, all my creations are under the same theme as that of the 2023 calendar. In fact, since the beginning of my career, I have always found it important to make people aware of being in touch with real things; to be in contact with love, nature, children, generations… to listen, to see,” says Mr. Séguin Poirier.
THE POWERS OF THE AGE OF ART
The artist had been thinking about this project for several years. It is the realization of 24 paintings of 100 copper enamel plates with a dimension of 5 inches x 5 inches. Each of the plates evokes the dream of an elderly person whether it has been lived or not. Bernard Séguin Poirier will then integrate a 20-inch x 15-inch artwork into each mural. Thus, the final montage will be spectacularly grandiose since the 24 parts of 7 feet x 3 feet will create a mural of 7 feet x 72 feet which will be unveiled in 2023-2024. Thereafter, the 24 elements will be installed in public places where the population can contemplate the dreams of seniors.
The artist opens the doors to his world.
As part of its traditional Open house event, Bernard Séguin will host until December 31. Hours of operation are Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
