Clear instructions

In times of a pandemic, some people may be fearful of exercising their citizenship duty. This is why it is important to stress that sanitary measures and public health guidelines must be followed to protect the health of voters. To this end, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, responsible for the general application of the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities, and Élections Québec worked together, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, to the development of a Health Protocol to reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19 during any municipal election.

Among the sanitary instructions that will be put in place, note the installation of several stations for the mandatory disinfection of hands, the application of measures to limit traffic at polling places and the frequent disinfection of surfaces used for voting.
