Following the municipal election which took place on Sunday, November 7th, the voters of Saint-Stanistlas-de-Kostka gave a strong mandate to the newly elected mayor, Jean-François Gendron.
Coming from a business background, Mr. Gendron says he ran an old-fashioned election campaign. This paid-off as Mr. Gendron received nearly 76% of the votes. For him it is on the field that he devoted his energy. “I knocked on the doors of the 847 residences in Saint-Stanistlas-de-Kostka, says Mr. Gendron. For six weeks, I lobbied and I had an extremely rewarding experience. I had the opportunity to realize how much our municipality has changed. There are plenty of young families. It’s nice to realize that these people have made the choice to come to live with us.”
Jean-François Gendron only took a few hours off after his victory. The next day he was in post with a head full of ideas. “There is no time to lose. I am already in contact with mayors and elected officials. Even before I ran for office, I had contacted mayors to build relationships. I am sure that my mandate will go well and that there will be great achievements in Saint-Stanistlas-de-Kostka.”
A swearing-in ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall and after that, the city council of the municipality will get to work.
