During the extraordinary meeting of January 25th , 2021, the municipal council of the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion adopted By-law no 1802-01, in order to postpone the deadlines for the payment of property taxes.
With this change, the three dates that were originally planned for March 15th , June 15th and September 15th will be postponed by 30 days, i.e. April 15th , July 15th and October 15th . The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion mentions that the tax bill that will be sent in mid-February will be adapted to this new deadline.
“This measure is intended to give our citizens a bit of a break, explained Mayor Guy Pilon. The pandemic has been going on for almost a year now and we know the situation is far from easy for many.”
The municipal administration points out that the increase in tax rates in Vaudreuil-Dorion is only 1.5% in 2021. In order to support the population, the city is offering relief equivalent to the increase of 1.5% to owners of residential buildings with five units or less. All this in order to cancel the 2021 increase. The businesses will have access, for their part, to a local aid fund to be set up soon with Développement (DEV) Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
