It all started in 2018 when the City took steps to secure this intersection, which was dangerous for citizens. In order for the work to progress faster and to show its good faith, the City itself undertook to do the start-up work on the site. This crossing includes the addition of a new sidewalk on Don-Quichotte Boulevard, in addition to the development of a pedestrian light system.
The crossing had been blocked for a while, but with the efforts of the municipality, everything was finally completed by the Ministry of Transportation of Quebec (MTQ) on August 31st and September 1st . Mayor Pierre Séguin is delighted with the accomplishment of his work, which will make life easier for the citizens of the area.
The City is currently evaluating the possibility of doing additional work on the pedestrian crossing to make it even safer and to make the crossing more fluid for citizens of the City. More details are to come.
