This is the first design scenario, which shows the foundations of an innovative, socially responsible hospital center, designed according to the highest quality standards and which will offer the best possible environments for users and staff. The images unveiled present three pavilions designed to ensure a humane, efficient, simplified and intuitive organization of care and services, in a friendly outdoor environment that includes many green spaces.

“With the first models of this project finally unveiled, we are starting to really understand what this major project represents for the population of our region, said Mrs. Picard. I am delighted to note that this facility will provide patients with a most modern and welcoming care environment, and that it will also promote exchanges between the various professionals who will offer their services there on a daily basis, for the benefit of our entire community.”

The future Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital represents a total investment of $ 1.7 billion. This is the first hospital project in over 30 years to include a net addition of beds for the facility. It will have a total capacity of 404 beds. It will have an emergency room with 41 gurneys and 11 operating rooms. For now, Quebec is ensuring that the planned deadlines are well respected. In fact, the performance specification is about to be finalized, the call for qualification is underway, and construction will begin shortly.

“This major project is starting to materialize in a tangible way, and we can be very proud of it, collectively, said Christian Dubé, Minister of Health and Social Services. The first images of the project give us an excellent overview of what this modern facility will be like, designed to meet the major current and future health challenges in the region, especially in the context of population growth that we have observed and the resulting increase in needs.”

Clinically compliant

The architectural concept is becoming clearer and has been developed in accordance with the clinical plan and the functional program. The model produced by the master team, the architects and engineers will be used to transmit to the proposing contractors the information necessary to finalize the design for the construction of the new hospital.

The Société québécoise des infrastructures was appointed as the project manager.
