Uniag Cooperative is proud to contribute to Sollio Cooperative Group’s From Us to You initiative again this year by donating $27,000 in products grown locally by agricultural contractors in West Monteregie The products will be distributed directly to food banks located in Uniag Cooperative’s territory, in Quebec and Ontario, to help families in need.
This year, From Us to You is helping to provide over 600,000 fresher, more diverse meals for people in need and enabling Au cœur des familles agricoles to better meet demand in the region. This organization provides mental health support and resources for agricultural workers and their families.
A total of $510,000 donated to communities in Quebec and Eastern Ontario
Thanks to Sollio Cooperative Group’s extensive network of members, cooperatives and businesses, a total of $510,000 in food and cash will be donated to communities in Quebec and Eastern Ontario. This donation includes $430,000 in fresh food from local agricultural contractors that will be distributed to Moissons in the Food Banks of Quebec network and to the Tablée des chefs’ Solidarity Kitchens at harvest time. It also includes financial donations totalling over $80,000 that will go to organizations such as Au cœur des familles agricoles, the Association des jeunes ruraux du Québec and the Junior Farmers’ Association of Ontario. Over $1 million has been donated to support communities through From Us to You since 2020.
