The Montérégie West Community Network (MWCN) Huntingdon Wellness Centre has been blessed to have an engaging and dedicated volunteer group join us this fall. They are a huge asset to us and we would like to take this opportunity to highlight just a few in this article.

Grace Brown was nominated and won the first Star Program Certificate presented to the valley for her outstanding contributions to Howick citizens and other surrounding communities. We were honored to be able to present Grace with a framed certificate and a gift card for all the wonderful things she does. Grace is involved with a walking group from Howick and is the president of the local Women’s Institute.

Jim Bolduc is sharing his leadership skills and expertise with children from the grade 5/6 students from Heritage Elementary School in Huntingdon. A basic electronic course for these students is being offered at our Huntingdon Wellness Center once a week in our after-school program. Jim comes from Dewittville and has many years of experience in the world of science.

Brenda Larocque has decades of knowledge in the fabric and sewing world. She has kindly donated several homemade quilts to the Huntingdon Wellness Centre, which we will be raffling on December 14th. If anyone is interested in tickets – donation 1 Ticket For $2 Or 3 For $5, please let Elliott Arthur know by emailing ss.mwcnhuntingdon@gmail.com or phoning the office at 450 264-3596.

We feel fortunate to have all these individuals in our community, they add so much to the fabric of our lives.

Volunteers are love in motion. Thank you to all the volunteers who are helping to make a difference in our community.
