It was on Friday, December 18th that the president of the Firefighters Association Sylvain Duguay and the treasurer Marc Laplante presented themselves at the premises of the L’Île-Perrot Food Bank to hand over a check for $ 500.
“Usually, we raise several thousand dollars for the food bank, explains Marc Laplante. With the conditions we know, it was not possible to raise funds.”
The firefighters who are more than 45 members have all given a small part of their contribution for the cause.
The head of the L’Île-Perrot Food Bank is delighted that even if the conditions are not favorable, the firefighters have decided to give in spite of everything.
The giant $ 500 cheque was exchanged outside to comply with distancing rules and new government rules for the holiday season.
