According to the dictionary, the word partnership means: An association of companies or institutions to carry out a common action.
This is exactly what the Montérégie West Community Network (MWCN) did when it organized the Vaudreuil-Soulanges YOUTH GALA 2021 last Friday evening, May 28, on ZOOM.
375 participants gathered to celebrate 56 students from the English-speaking community of Vaudreuil-Soulanges for their perseverance, excellence and academic leadership.
$8,000 in scholarships were awarded during the evening, in the presence of the two federal MPs for Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Salaberry-Suroît as well as the two provincial MPs for Vaudreuil and Soulanges; in addition, the mayors of the towns of Vaudreuil-Dorion, Saint-Lazare, Pincourt, Hudson, L’Île-Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot and Rigaud took part in the celebration.
11 elementary and secondary schools selected the 56 students for the occasion, thanks to the collaborative work of teachers and principals.
The MWCN secured the partnership of the Lester B. Pearson School Board and the Caisse Desjardins de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, which donated $5,500 to the organization of the event.
Members of the MWCN Board of Directors and employees attended the event and helped organize it, as did the members of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Network Partnership Initiative Coordinating Committee.
Students, parents, friends, teachers, school principals and MWCN employees joined MPs, the School Board and the Caisse Desjardins to celebrate with MWCN the efforts of our youth in the English-speaking community of Vaudreuil-Soulanges … that’s partnership!
Congratulations to all involved!
