February is the month to emphasize the importance of love, not just in our relationships but ourselves through self-love and self-care.

These past two years in general have been incredibly difficult, both as a society and as individuals. The feeling of isolation has crept its way into our hearts. No one could have anticipated the length of this pandemic. But seeing as it has been nearly 2 years, I think it’s incredible how we have all managed to find the strength to go on. These years have tested our boundaries, yet we remain courageous despite the uncertainty of tomorrow.
With that being said, let’s remember to spread the love. From a friendly wave, to simply checking in, these simplest of acts can go a long way. We can all use a reason to smile. Beyond the flowers, chocolates and cards, the simple act of being able to meet, hug, and hold one another is the human contact we so desperately miss and need. I think now more than ever we understand the value of loving someone and being loved.
I am lucky enough to be a part of the MWCN Community Organization. This organization provides resources and support to help the English-speaking community thrive. They make it their goal to remind seniors and community members that they are loved and cared for, by sending out care packages, cards during holidays, and little goodies throughout the year to bring them smiles. I encourage everyone to spread the love. We will get through this pandemic together!
