The city indicates that this financial assistance will allow it to carry out work to improve the functionality and accessibility of the trails located in the Centre de la nature 4 saisons.
The project involves various interventions, in particular the raising of certain sections, the repair of two bridges, the potential looping of mountain bike trails already in place as well as the production and installation of adequate signage.
The planned realizations are based on a report issued by a professional in the development of outdoor trails in Quebec. The goal remains to keep the woodland and its 6 km of trails as natural as possible. Its enhancement is therefore intended to be sustainable.
“The Centre de la nature 4 saisons is a real gem for our community, says Andrée Brosseau, mayor of Coteau-du-Lac. The City wishes to preserve the natural character and the open-air appeal of the site. We believe that it is possible both to ensure its protection, while promoting a healthy and intelligent “exploitation” in order to make it more accessible for the purposes of outdoor activities nearby.”
For her part, the member for Soulanges, Maryline Picard, emphasizes that this announcement is particularly close to her heart. She believes that thanks to this investment, access to recreational, physical and sports activities is improved for the citizens of her region.
“Outdoor enthusiasts will be able to enjoy nature in complete safety while exploring our magnificent region from a new perspective”, explains the MP for Soulanges.
According to the program criteria, the City of Coteau-du-Lac has two years to complete the work. The city’s population will receive more information on the timeline of interventions when the schedule is confirmed.
