What a great day it was! With over 60 people in attendance throughout the day, we hosted a tea from 1PM to 6PM with delicious goodies enjoyed by many. There were outdoor games which were well participated and indoor activities for young people such as a color café, lego building and science projects. Throughout the day we were entertained with talented musicians, Francois Chollette, Shawn McNamee, Matt Mardini and Sammi Brisebois with Tyler Macdonell, who played and sang, much to everyone’s enjoyment.
It was a pleasure to offer tours of our center and showcase all the great services and activities which are offered to the English-Speaking population through the many partnerships with other local community organizations, the New Frontiers School Board and the Health & Social Service Network.
Thanks to partners, The Heritage Treasure Museum from Howick, the NFSB Adult Education kiosk and the 1st Huntingdon Scouting Movement table for their participation throughout the day.
Congratulations to door prizes winners, Patricia Vertes, Barbara Taylor, Richard Tardif & Alrica Phagu.
Our Executive Director, Pauline Wiedow was surprised to have her birthday announced and received a beautiful painting from the whole MWCN team along with everyone singing Happy Birthday.
The day concluded with welcome speeches and cutting of the cake. One of the highlights of the day was the unveiling of a drawing form local artist, John Ryan which will be proudly displayed at our center.
In order for an event like this to run smoothly, it takes lots of hands and hard work. We would like to thank all our volunteers as well as the whole MWCN staff who helped make our day the success that it was.
