The company C.A.T. Inc., located in Coteau-du-Lac, saw part of its fleet be the victim of a fire on Sunday, February 28th .

Michel Vaillancourt, director of the Coteau-du-Lac fire protection service, explains that the blaze started around 4:45 a.m. Faced with the scale of the situation, two fire protection services lent a hand to the Coteau-du-Lac sappers to fight the flames. We are talking about the services of Saint-Polycarpe and Saint-Clet. In total, 30 sappers were at work.

“Due to the vigour of the flames, the teams stayed at a certain distance,” explains Mr. Vaillancourt.

The damage is considerable. As Director Vaillancourt reports, seven trucks are total losses and two others have sustained significant damage. “The case has been transferred to fire investigators from the Sûreté du Québec since we have not found the cause of the fire,” said Michel Vaillancourt.

Mr. Vaillancourt concluded by explaining that the company was in operation when the fire broke out and that no one was injured during the intervention.
