Represented by Me Martin Latour and Me Emmanuelle Rheault, this is not the first run-in with the law for Jonathan Lessard. His track record is abundant as per evidence of multiple incarcerations. Moreover, at the time of the charges against him, Jonathan Lessard had been released 4 days before from the Montreal Detention Center. For the trial, it was possible to learn that more than 25 witnesses will be heard.

In addition to the delay between the arrest and the start of the trial, another fact should be noted in this case. During the preliminary inquiry into this case, Jonathan Lessard saw further charges laid against him. For some reason, he spat in the direction of Judge Marc Labrie. Charges of assault and intimidation of a person associated with the justice system have been filed.

Chronology of events

The story surrounding the disappearance of Serge Schink is particular. The victim’s daughter said she was greeted by a stranger when she went to visit her father. The latter allegedly told her that her father was away from the city for a few days. However, the family contacted the Sûreté du Québec as they found the situation peculiar.

Following a brief investigation, the police found the body of Serge Schink in a wooded area on Chemin Larocque at the intersection of Rue Daoust.
