The financial assistance of $ 2,430,738 relates to the Accélération des investissements sur le réseau routier local (AIRRL) program and the Redressement des infrastructures routières locales (RIRL). It is therefore an assistance of $ 469,225 for the repair of Chemin de Planches which crosses the municipalities of Sainte-Barbe, Saint-Anicet and Godmanchester, $ 348,964 for the repair of Rang Duncan in Saint-Chrysostome, $ 658,428 for the repair of the Rang des Patriotes Sud and the Montée de l’École and Montée Castagne in Saint-Cyprien-de-Napierville.

In addition, the sum of $ 152,788 is granted to Napierville for the repair of rue de l’Église. Not to mention Ormstown, which was the subject of a previous press release concerning financial assistance of $ 400,666 obtained for the rehabilitation of Rivière-Châteauguay North road.

Regarding the Maintenance of Local Roads (ERL) program, this is a financial assistance of $ 359 2529 including a bonus of nearly $ 1 million which supports 21 municipalities in the county of Huntingdon concerned by this program. The latter aims at routine and preventive maintenance of local road networks.

“The program and the investments presented demonstrate our government’s desire to meet the needs of municipalities, increase user safety, ensure the sustainability of the local road network and, by the same token, boost our economy. I am delighted with these announcements because I have the safety of our people at heart and also of those who come to visit us by using the roads in our county”, says Claire IsaBelle.

For her part, Louise Lebrun, Prefect of the Haut-Saint-Laurent RCM and Mayor of Sainte-Barbe, mentions that the issuance of these grants is very good news for our municipalities. “It will improve our road network, which really needs it, and make driving on the road safer and more enjoyable. We sincerely thank the MP for her involvement in the projects, especially ours, which enabled us to obtain this financial assistance”, concludes the prefect.
