Canadian Tire’s distribution center, located in Coteau-du-Lac, will be expanded. This is what VIVA MÉDIA first learned.
In order to confirm the situation, several approaches were taken. However, Développement Vaudreuil Soulanges (DEV) confirms that it has received information according to which Canadian Tire Corporation (CCT) is expanding its distribution center, which currently totals 1.5 million square feet in the Alta Industrial Park in Coteau-du-Lac.
According to information obtained, the expansion will be more than 300,000 square feet and a capacity doubled in terms of units. As Joanne Brunet, CEO of DEV, points out, there is reason to be proud of the enthusiasm of large-scale distribution companies for the land available in the various industrial parks of Vaudreuil-Soulanges, including that of Coteau-du-Lac. “Obviously, we are waiting for the Canadian Tire Corporation to make the official announcement”, explains Brunet.
FedEx Supply Chain is a leader in logistics, warehousing and distribution. The company manages the operations of this CCT distribution center, which is one of the largest distribution centers in North America.
«FedEx is also the largest employer in Vaudreuil Soulanges with its 1,200 employees,» explains Mrs. Brunet. This center serves eastern Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes and recently received the «Best Stations Award», a prestigious honor for standing out among 130 distribution centers and warehouses located across North America.”
Many inquire
Vaudreuil-Soulanges really has the wind in its sails. The residential sector has grown by far greater than the rest of Quebec. Now, it is the industrial sector that is also coveted.
“This interest in Vaudreuil-Soulanges is reflected in the volume of requests for information on available land in recent years, but particularly since the month of June, explains Joanne Brunet. Demand from players in the wholesale and logistics industry is notable due to the rise of e-commerce and transformations in supply chains. Its positioning in the Ontario-Quebec trade corridor and the intersection of three highways make Vaudreuil Soulanges a privileged place. The Alta Industrial Park is one of the few in Greater Montreal where there is large-scale land ready for development and dedicated to logistics activities.”
