$ 2M construction project | VIVA MÉDIA Skip to main content

The City of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and FORMAX, an expert in drilling and precision sawing of concrete for structural demolition, jointly marked the start of construction work on a 13,000 sq. ft. building.

Located in the Industrial Ecopark Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, this project represents an investment of $ 2M. “We are particularly proud to contribute to essential and very large-scale public infrastructure projects such as the Réseau express métropolitain (REM), the Champlain Bridge, the Turcot interchange, etc. We are also in great demand for off-road projects such as the complete repair of parking lots for example. When it’s complicated, we are there! We are even making a real difference. We have been able to take advantage of technology and robotization to offer a precise, high-quality and fast service which also compensates for the lack of manpower”, explained Mr. Patrick Fauteux, president of FORMAX.

It was in 2009 that Francis Quesnel and Patrick Fauteux began their concrete drilling and sawing activities. Growing demand has led the company to expand its niche of expertise, by offering precision services such as hydrodemolition, robotic demolition, repair and injection of concrete for the renovation and construction of tunnels, dams, docks, airports, viaduct and highways. FORMAX and its 85 employees now cover a large territory, meeting the needs of the Quebec and Ontario markets, which continue to grow even during a pandemic period.

“It all started in Beauharnois. My life is here and so is the future of my business. This decision was easy to make. Salaberry-de-Valleyfield has many competitive advantages: its strategic positioning, price per square foot and quality of life”, added Patrick Fauteux, President of FORMAX.

The Ecopark

Salaberry-de-Valleyfield has experienced unprecedented economic growth in recent years thanks to companies like FORMAX, which have chosen one of its industrial parks to set up and develop there. The Industrial Ecopark Salaberry-de-Valleyfield is also in full development. As Mr. Miguel Lemieux, Mayor of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, recently recalled: “The Ecopark, an industrial and green space, is strategically located at the crossroads of highways 30 and 530, near the port and intermodal centers. It provides access in less than 30 minutes to the South Shore of Montreal, Ontario and the United States. Businesses that choose to establish themselves in this wooded environment are committed to respecting higher standards with regard to environmental cohabitation. These factors make this site a remarkable and attractive place of development for entrepreneurs and investors from here and elsewhere.”
