Alexandre Larin was re-elected President of the Association des gens d’affaires de Soulanges at the organization’s annual general meeting, which was held on Wednesday evening as a virtual meeting via the Zoom platform.
The other members of the Board of Directors were also reappointed to their respective positions, including Julie Desrochers as Vice-President as well as Jimmy Leduc, Maxime Desgroseilliers, Sylvain Poirier, Jean-François Blanchard, Nathalie Léger and Nicolas Brassard as Directors.
The re-elected president expressed the wish to revitalize the association with the holding of face-to-face events as of spring of 2022 and this, in compliance with health measures related to COVID-19 if necessary. The popular sugar shack activity could be the first organized by AGAS since the start of the pandemic.
“We hope to be able to unveil in the coming months a schedule of activities to come in 2022”, said Alexandre Larin. Socializing gatherings such as happy hours, conferences and company visits would be among the potential activities.
Due to the health measures caused by the COVID-19 virus, members of the Association des gens d’affaires de Soulanges have not been able to meet in person since the annual general meeting held in fall 2019.
“There is no denying that the past two years have been an adventure for AGAS, mainly because of the pandemic. We tried to organize some activities which had to be cancelled”, said the president.
The forced pause of the past two years has reduced membership by about half and dropped below 100 members. “For the reasons we know, many have not renewed their membership cards. My wish is to see the AGAS return to the level of the pre-pandemic”, hopes Alexandre Larin.
